Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of Handy Library – Book Organizer (the "App") and the handylibrary.com website, products of Bookshare Co., Ltd ("Bookshare", "we").

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing or using Handy Library, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Handy Library.

2. Using Handy Library

  • Handy Library is a book organizer for Android. No account is required.
  • You must be old enough to accept these Terms in your country, or use Handy Library with the permission of a parent or guardian.
  • We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the App in line with these Terms and Google Play's terms.

3. Your library data

  • Your books, shelves, notes, lending records and borrower details stay on your device. They belong to you, and you are responsible for them.
  • Keep your own backups. Uninstalling the App or clearing its storage deletes your data, and we cannot recover it.
  • Get permission before entering other people's personal information, such as borrowers' names or contacts.
  • How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Optional online features

  • Book and cover search uses third-party providers (such as Google Books, Open Library and Amazon). Book information may be incomplete or wrong.
  • AI book recognition sends your photos or videos to Google Gemini through our cloud service. Results may be inaccurate, so check them before saving.
  • Google Drive backups are stored in your own Google account and follow Google's terms.
  • These features need an internet connection and may change or stop working if a provider changes its service.

5. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use Handy Library to break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
  • copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the App, except where the law allows it;
  • bypass purchase checks or usage limits, or interfere with our services;
  • upload content you have no right to use.

6. Premium and refunds

  • Handy Library is free to download. Premium is a one-time purchase made through Google Play, which processes the payment. Prices vary by country and may not include local taxes.
  • Refunds follow Google Play's refund policy and are requested through Google Play. Contact us if you need help. Your rights under local consumer law are not affected.

7. Website forms

When you join the Web app waitlist or send a question through Need help?, we use your email only to tell you when the Web app launches or to answer you. Waitlist emails are kept for 9 months. The forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA.

8. Intellectual property

The App, the website, the Handy Library name, logo and design belong to Bookshare. Book covers and book information from third parties belong to their owners.

9. Changes to the service

We may update, change or discontinue features of Handy Library. You can stop using it at any time by uninstalling the App. We may restrict access if you breach these Terms.

10. Limitation of liability

Handy Library is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, Bookshare is not liable for data loss, inaccurate book information or AI results, or indirect damages, unless caused by our willful misconduct or gross negligence. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited by law.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time and will change the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use Handy Library means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Disputes are first resolved through negotiation; if that fails, they are settled by a competent court in Vietnam. This does not take away any mandatory consumer protection of the country where you live.
